We Believe In The Power Of Human Connections
Yes, they are, we provide training from accredited organizations. The NSC and ASHI are our main certifications. We are going to become an AHA training center later on this year 2016.
Depending on the course you take. CPR/AED certifications from the NSC are valid for 2 years. First Aid from the NSC is valid for 3 years. Bloodborne pathogens from the NSC is valid for 1 year. All ASHI CPR + First Aid courses are valid for 2 years from the completion date.
Yes, we provide every student with a workbook for the class that they are taking, we also have downloadable PDFs that you can download to you phone or tablet. We want everyone to have reference materials to walk away with.
To be “certified” you have to be over the age of 13 years old to receive the completion card. There is a difference between certification and participation.
100% proficiency is required to demonstrate the skills in the CPR classes. This involves getting on the floor and pumping and blowing with the manikins. If you’re unable to to do so, you should inform the instructor at the very beginning.
We will not charge you to switch a date, we understand things happen. However if you completely cancel a date, then there is a 50% cancellation fee, the main reason fro this is that we have reserved the specific date and time in our calendar, essentially we have blocked this time out for you even if we had to turn down other offers for the same date and time.
We have a training calendar for public classes, we also have our Full-Service calendar for the onsite trainings we provide very frequently, so we’re busy whether you come to us, or we come to you.
The instructor to student ratio is 15:1 we try and keep our public classes small to create a better learning environment, this enhances the learning experience for the students, and gives them the needed instructional time required to achieve the certification.
Our minimum group size for the onsite training is 8 participants, however if you ask nicely we will make special arrangements. The smallest group size is 5 participants for the onsite courses.
The Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, more commonly known as OSHA require various types of professionals to maintain updated training and expertise in not only First Aid but also CPR. Moreover, several employers require their employees to be trained in CPR or First Aid Training, even in the case when it may not necessarily be required. If you are working in the teaching industry, Childcare centers, Fitness centers, construction companies, manufacturing work, lifeguard service, in a church or a community group, as a professional rescuer or in the Emergency Response Team (ERT), then you definitely need to take this kind of training.
The suitability of each course depends on your exact need. First Aid training helps trainers deal with medical emergencies like stroke, heart attack and diabetic issues, environment emergencies such as allergic reactions, and injury related emergencies such as fractures and bleeding. On the other hand, CPR Training teaches how to take care of children, infants and adults in case of choking problems or heart problems. AED Training combines training in choking care and adult/child CPR, and also Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The last type of training is the Blood borne Pathogens training, which is ideal for those who are at risk for coming into contact with Blood borne Pathogens.
In most cases, our CPR/First Aid/AED classes go on for 5 hours.
5 hours is a standard time throughout the industry and is not very long. The companies which offer you quick classes may burden you up with a lot of information at one go and this may not result in effective learning.
