It has smart pads that allows you to use one set of pads for both Adults and Infants/Children, this makes it easy to use in emergencies, other defibrillators you have to have separate pads for both types of victims, which creates more costs and also maintenance. The feature uses a smart key, that you insert into the Phillips HeartStart FRx and it automatically adapts the shock strength and the life guidance to provide hand placement instructions for the pediatric victim.
